Beyond presents insights and analysis by Girls in Science and other youth on issues of interest to readers.
For Submitting an Article or Letter:
- Perspectives (up to 1000 words plus 1 figure) highlight recent exciting scientific research. They may provide context for the findings within a field or explain potential interdisciplinary importance. As these are meant to express a personal viewpoint, with rare exceptions, Perspectives should have no more than two authors.
- Books or Media Reviews (up to 800 words) feature commentary on new books, films, exhibitions, performances, mobile applications, podcasts, and other media that are likely to be of broad interest to our readership.
- Policy Forums (up to 2000 words, 1-2 figures, and up to 15 references) presents issues related to the intersections between science and society that have policy implications.
- Letters (up to 300 words) discuss material published in Beyond in the last 6 months or issues of general interest. Letters should be submitted through Beyond Article’s Submission and Information Portal. Letters are reviewed, evaluated, and posted if accepted. The author of an article in question is usually given an opportunity to reply. Letters are subject to editing for clarity and space.
General Policy:
If more than one individual made substantial contributions, inter alia, to the conception or design of the work. The full (official) name of author(s) / contributor(s) should be list, with institutional affiliation, and contact details. All authors must disclose complete and correct information about any and all contributions, references, and necessary information to the work being reported. Non-monetary (in-kind) contribution of services or advice, etc. may, if appropriate, be cited in published acknowledgments in the article.
The Beyond Magazine will not consider any article or letters or reviews, etc., that has been published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere.
